Yes. But you don't need to install any tools to see the results. And allows 
collaborative editing.

Yes, and no. There is even TeX wikis :-)

Yes, something like that. I will setup the docs in sections into Google Docs. 
Most of our work will be producing images and text. So we could 
cut/paste/import into tex later, or possibly even have a good product anyway. 
Either way, we will have the important work, the text & images :-)
