Hi Sascha,
you could also enable the NMEA/Raw Logger on the third page of the
config menu which will help us even more when debugging your problems.
It will create an .NMEA file in your XCSoarData folder that you could
send us.

Hi John,
thanks for the speedy reply...
To your answers:
to 1) ok I understand
to 2) still unresolved - the difference between final glide bar
and arrival height displayed next to the landing field under the
influence of wind are more than 10% and therefore are unlikely to
be caused by rounding errors.
10% of what? The final resulting arrival height?
Yes. I ran the following experiment: start XCSoar in Sim, increase
height above ground, select a GoTo target, read values of the final
glide bar and the displayed arrival height next to the selected ground
target (should be identical). Now add a headwind comming exactly from
the direction of the selected GoTo target. Again read the two values
(are less, than w/o wind) - now the values are considerably different,
suggesting, that the influence of wind on the displayed arrival height
and the final glide bar is different. In earlier version, at least in
5.2.2., both values were still identical, as I would have expected.
This is not to do with rounding errors, it's due to an angular
approximation.
to 3) ok great
to 4) why doesn't the drop marker function work anymore by
pressing left key in 6.10 (worked in 6.010).
Because LEFT/RIGHT now page through the display modes.
Ok I understand
to 5) yes in version 6.010 on my IPAQ3870 gestures could be
enabled / disabled, not however in version 6.10.
Correct. We try to reduce the number of configuration options as
there are so many, it is daunting for many new users.
Makes sense
to 6) in version 6.010 one could lock the system settings during
flight by enabling the safety lock feature, preventing an
accidental change of key parameters during flight
This feature was removed.
to 7) circling wind calculation definetly seem to be buggy. In
previous versions i.e. 6.010 the values were never so far off in
comparison the my onboard LX7000.
Please report with an igc log file to www.xcsoar.org/trac
<http://www.xcsoar.org/trac>
Wind calculation has not changed since 6.0.10.
Gladly, have to wait until next weekend though. I will provide the
XCSoar log, the LX7000 log and the Flarm IGC log. I will also
flight to test with previous versions (6.0.9, 5.2.2.), which were the
ones I had previously used.
