The number of info boxes is somewhat limited, so using up another one for the
logger icon does seem a bit odd to me. Why not use someting that is on the
screen any way and make it change to reflect the GPS and logger condition?
For example could - in case of a GPS interruption - the plane symbol fill color
turn red or so, and in case of a logger failure it could be reduced to an
outline without fill, kinda greyed out.
That would take care of being easily recognizeable and wouldn't waste any
screen real estate at all. A grey or red plane icon would immediately create
awareness and convey the unreliability of the currently displayed state.
Also could the trail be used to display logged vs. not logged flight path.
