I think you've identified an opportunity to improve the infobox configuration tools in xcsoar and I'd be interested to here more details. I think the idea would help intermediate and expert users manage their infoboxes. For new users, I would suggest that a good set of default of infoboxes may be of more value. I raise this point because the original poster described himself as a new user.
