Given the multitude of features, options, accesories and operating systems supported it's a miracle this doesn't happen more often. It's proof of great skills of the developers. The official build is developing at furious rate adding great features very often.
But most of the time I prefer stability and reliability over new featers in my gliding computer. Is that just my taste? What do the developers think about a "long term support" version? I would fly competitions with such version (only getting fixes of critical bugs found and nothing else) and would use the regular version for playing around, replaying flights and some out of competition flying.
