Same here - stability of program and reliablity of key functions (e.g. arrival
heights) are also paramount for me personally.  Also I have to say, I never had
a crash of XCSoar in the last 6 years (some 600 plus flying hours) - thanks
(However I haven't flown with 6.3.1 yet and therefore can't say anything about
it, but I am sure, any possible problem is resolved soon).

Given the multitude of features, options, accesories and operating
systems supported it's a miracle this doesn't happen more often. It's
proof of great skills of the developers. The official build is
developing at furious rate adding great features very often.

But most of the time I prefer stability and reliability over new
featers in my gliding computer. Is that just my taste? What do the
developers think about a "long term support" version?

I would fly competitions with such version (only getting fixes of
critical bugs found and nothing else) and would use the regular
version for playing around, replaying flights and some out of
competition flying.
