I do like they idea and think option 1 should be relatively easy to implement.

This gives a user the flexibility too.

I have a few more nab screens setup in my config anyway. Where this setup would 
be a nice one. All it would really need is a bunch of alternative related info 
boxes and a alternative type setup.
