Hey Andy,

your solution would work for me too. It is close to the quick fix we
discussed earlier. (Just make ALT1+ALT2 selectable)
However there are two points which in my opinion are drawbacks from the
solution I suggested.

1) As I understand your concept, you would have to do the long click,
select waypoint for every infobox(which you would like to show alternate
data), every time you change alternate. But like in my example you might
have more than one infobox showing alternate data (e.g Heading to, Arr
Alt, GR). That would be quite some clicking to do in flight..

2) You might have only an "Arrival Alt" Infobox for your Alternate. If
you get low and decide to fly to your alternate you have to set it again
as main target to navigate there. Again more clicking in a phase of
flight when you dont need it. With the TARGET, NAV1, NAV2 solution it
would only be one, (maximum two if set on NAV2) taps in the screen corner.

How about if the T,1,2 solution was implemented and in Setup System the
following config options added.
1) show Mode-Announciation in map-corner on/off
2) lock Nav-Mode to off/TASK/NAV1
3) Gesture to switch Nav-Mode

If the user doesn't like the map screen element:
- set option1 to off -> configure gesture or mode-switching infobox

If the user would only like an extra infopage like Claus suggested or
just an extra infobox as Andy :
- option 1 off  -> lock Navmode to TASK -> setup your Info-Page ->
assing your targets via "Set NAV1, Set NAV2"

Would that work for you?

Cheers Henrik

PS: I never used LX5000 for navigation, except direct to home field in
our club glider... ;-)
