You know why?  Because NVidia keeps it a secret how their cards work :(

And regarding question #1: are you subscribed to this list -- I guess the
answer is no?

(the way the initial contact with users is handled is ... suboptimal ..
I'm trying to gather information to both support that view and to find out
how it should be changed)
