One very interesting result of using XML instead of X12/EDIFACT is that
the XML definitions (hopefully) will be global. In Europe (where we live)
and the rest
of the world,  EDIFACT is mostly used for EDI - in the US it is X12 (I
assume?). Will, XML
as an "universal EDI language", not simplify for US companies to do business
outside US as well as non-US countries to do business in the US?
