However we always try to first remove a rarely used and/or poorly thought feature before adding a new, hopefully more useful and better designed, feature. In your case, it seems that we need to replace XXE_USER_PREFERENCES (implemented upon the request of another customer; may be Mark Fletcher) by another, more convenient and more powerful facility.
