Sorry - I forgot this. Check out the output of XFree86 -scanpci

http://www.renderzone.free-online.co.uk/xfree/XFree86.0.log

Also the output of XFree86 -configure (which determines dual
milleniums).

http://www.renderzone.free-online.co.uk/xfree/XF86Config.new

Out of interest the BIOS of my Milleniums is V1.1

Before the swap around:

http://www.renderzone.free-online.co.uk/xfree/xdpyinfo.before

Right screen was exact copy of left screen, though no mouse pointer.
Cannot move mouse pointer between windows.

After the swap around (see last comment):

http://www.renderzone.free-online.co.uk/xfree/xdpyinfo.after

Full xinerama desktop. All ok.

That's the correct file, it's the only XF86Config* file on my box.

That's quite true. I changed it round as per your suggestion and whaddya
know! A working desktop. In retrospect this seems entirely sensible.
One should not be able to reference a screen that exists 'in the
future', in terms of config files. I'm sure I read in the docs that
items could be declared in any order however...

Incidentally, Jared Lyvers mentioned that the server was reporting
errors (EE) I believe regarding my video ram only being set to 4MB.
Though that is the case, I believe it should be OK to leave it thus, as
I have 4MB cards. Thanks for his input.

Thanks for everyone's help. That's really made a terrible day a lot more fun.
Now where did I put my RenderMan renderer source code..? <g>

Again, thanks.
