28.8 should be a bit slow. On a 56k, it's usable with a lbxproxy. You can
also use an ssh-compressed line. Finally, there are few projects to replace
lbx extension, but I don't know how good they are.

But I think you can find all the docs you want searching on google. Here is
an interesting link found in less than 1 minute :
