Depends what you're doing. Generally, things with images (like
Netscape) will suck. Things without images are generally pretty
fast.

Only the server's limit on how many clients it can accept
(64 or 128, I forget).

Again, it depends how much data is being passed back and forth.
On a fast network (10 Mbps) I've had CPU intensive things run faster
remotely than locally, or at least more responsively.

Nothing different really. The communication pipeline changes
from a unix domain socket to an internet socket, that's it basically.
Accept for setting up the connection, the communication process is
abstracted to the point where remote vs. local isn't any different.
Mark.
