Hi all,

I'd like to spend some time hunting around the source for the i810/KDE3
corruption bug, I've suffered with it for over a year now.

There have been a number of past email exchanges on the topic, here's the
best by Dirk Stffler:

http://www.xfree86.org/pipermail/xpert/2002-June/018208.html

And a great follow-up by Matt:

http://www.xfree86.org/pipermail/xpert/2002-June/018335.html

Dirk does a great job of explaining the issue and even provides links to
screenshots demonstrating the problem, so I won't duplicate those here.

Can anyone take a few minutes to read the two posts and maybe point me in
the right direction? It sounds to me that Dirk & Matt have narrowed it
down to the offscreen pixmap cache. They also discovered the bug goes
away when the resolution is 1024x768, which according to Matt is the only
resolution where the framebuffer pitch is equal to the width.

I figure worst case, even if I can't fix the bug, I'll at least learn some
XFree86 internals. :)

Bill
