This was me last year. I started a project which is not my usual thing at
all but it looked interesting and I like a challenge. By about half way
through I knew it was a mistake. Part of the problem was that I knew that
I had nowhere to hang it which gave me no real incentive to finish it.
Friends I showed it too were polite but not enthusiastic either One even
said it would look great on the back of a bikers jacket.... the trouble was
she was right! However once started ( I usually do one at a time) I forced
myself to continue until it was all done bar the backstitching. At which
point I abandoned it for 3 months and did something I enjoyed and had
promised myself as a reward when the "mistake" was done. I then went back
and finished it properly, washed it, ironed it and it now languishes in a
box where it will probably stay.
With the benefit of hindsight I regret the time wasted on it and wish I HAD
just taken the scissors to it ( which I have done to a hopelessly
miscounted piece..... and very liberating it was too)
