Last year, I had planned to stitch a Leisure Arts magnolia pic for my
sister-in-law. This was going to be the first handmade thing I had ever done
for her. I had worked on the project for about 2 weeks, and it was going
beautifully. The pretty pink and white flowers really stood out on the
tea-dyed linen fabric I had chosen.
        Then, my sister-in-law left my brother.
        I took the piece out of my scroll frames, rolled it up, and placed it
at the bottom of my stitching basket.  I do not decorate with magnolias;
therefore, I have no need of it. My mom and other sister-in-law, who do
decorate with magnolias, know who the piece was started for; therefore, they
would not want it either.
        Although my brother and his wife are now reconciled (for who knows
how long), I know I will never give this piece to her. I may eventually get
it out to finish for someone who does not know the history of the piece;
otherwise, it will be forever unfinished.

Keep on Stitching,

Kay in GA
