The conversation goes back a few years... Well, the devil is in the details. I'll also add in mentioning "complaining" I was addressing that "I" had complained in the past about not having updated ATI Radeon 2D drivers, OpenGL 1.5-3.1, or Xorg 7.x - but Sun did deliver although with limited resources which may have taken longer than expected - but they did it. So, complaining can be a good thing if done constructively - no?? The other part is just getting organized on whom will work on what. Alan mentioned before that Sun Xorg group is mainly the 'implementors' and 'maintainers' of Xorg/XSun on Sun. Now the SPARC group is a part of the Sun Xorg team. All of the video driver implementation and maintenance falls within reach of this one group. So, this gets into what team other than the Sun Xorg team is involved in any type of FreeDesktop.org-related projects (like the Sun DRI team, Gallium3D integration team, etc)??? Martin has spent a few years doing a lot of work on video driver support on SPARC/x86 machines as well as other people I can mention. My stance now is just getting the Radeon 3D driver working (again) under the newer OSOL snv_118-120 distros to support pre-R600 based ATI video cards for now. Since there are Sun-internal teams 'still' working on this and the DRI/DRM framework then this will help whomever is involved porting their piece into the solution or supporting their own OSOL distribution(s) - like Belenix. ~ Ken Mays -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
