Alan, I have to agree with Moinak in that the situation concerning xkb is
everything but totally clear.
You yourself had (an empty) pkgdefs subdir for SUNWxorg-xkb in XW_NV/packages
previously:
http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/xwin-discuss/2007-February/000983.html
Empty for an unknown reason.
Now it is gone all together:
http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/fox/fox-gate/XW_NV/packages/

I also fail to find out, where I might get the src and/or pkgdefs for it, I
cannot find it in the (public) g11 consolidation, neither in src, nor as
re-distributable binary package:
http://dlc.sun.com/osol/g11n/downloads/software/current/g11n-src-structure.txt
http://src.opensolaris.org/source/search?q=xkb
http://www.google.com/search?q=%22SUNWxorg-xkb%22&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Well, it may be true that SUNWxorg-xkb ships as part of SX[C-D]R, also on SPARC
for a while now:
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do;jsessionid=deb51f85411099436dfe24bc0a5?bug_id=6520105

But what are we doing here, working on a *FullyOPEN*-X?
If that is the case, having to depend on un-redistributable binary pkgs isn't
of too much use.

I also think we can finally set the packaging version information to the true
value which is 7.2.0 now, rather than continuing the downward_to_Solaris10
compatibility nonsense of still taking 6.8.x or 6.9.x as value:

Hey, we are working on something that is going to be part of what might one day
replace Solaris10, if not even 11. We should upgrade the version to its true
value. You can still change it back for your Solaris10 deliveries.

p.s. I'm going to leave xkb where I, personally, currently have it, inside
SUNWxorg-data (partially derived from Moinak's work).
You can later still adjust the Makefiles and pkgdefs to your wishes, removing
something is done quickly. For now it has to work and has to be
re-distributable by 3rd parties (BeleniX, MartUX, Indiana, SchilliX, Nextenda,
YouNameIt_*niX). And it currently meets both of these requirements. I'm
wondering, why you are referencing next to 40 packages in
http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/fox/fox-gate/XW_NV/make_release_packages,
while only 23 pkgdefs are contained in your FOX src:
http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/fox/fox-gate/XW_NV/packages/
Or are the missing pkgdefs (and src?) those, you had mentioned some time ago
and want to publish soon?
For the mesa-symlinks I have mostly returned to what you had pre-defined for
x86.

What do you think?

Regards,
%martin
