some of these service packs having port issues closing ports that it
doesn't think you need.  I know that's not the error you're getting,
but it is an issue. 

Also make sure you have all the updated programs you need to run
yahoo.  Those are needed.

have you also totally uninstalled yahoo by the uninstall function, AND
deleting the yahoo folder then reinstall?  

Does it work with older versions of yahoo?
