I am using the latest version of YIM but the problem is the same going as far back as v5, which I have tried. For some reason, YIM (and YIM alone) refuses to acknowledge the fact that I have a camera on my USB port. Other IM programs have no problem recognizing and using the camera. Incidentally, I have tried three different cameras with the same results.
The latest "ploy" on my part was to remove YIM and then run a Registry "cleaner" to get rid of all superfluus registry entries. After all erroneous registry entries were removed, I reboted and loaded YIM starting with v5. Everything is fine except for two things: 1) the camera selection is "greyed out" and 2) if I try to start the webcam, it "locks up" YIM to where I cannot get out of it withut hitting the "Reset" button on the PC. "Ctrl-Alt-Delete" has no effect to "End task" other than to tell me YIM is "Not responding" I notice on my laptop that the "Camera Selection" (under WebCam) is "Greyed out" but a camera, in fact ANY camera will work there on YIM. This is about to drive me sane. Any help would be appreciated. Lou.
