Are you using a wireless internet connection or dial-up? Dial-up is more
prone to this happening as the internet connection will "time-out" causing
you to lose your connection and then YM logs out. Many ISP's have the dial
up connections set to time-out after a certain time of inactivity. With
wireless connections, there could be radio frequency interference, power
brown-outs causing drop in signal, etc., that causes YM to go offline. I
use a wireless connection and often I'll see that my YM has signed out and
then signed back on. I can tell by putting up a custom message and then
when I come back, my custom message is gone and it just shows me as
"Available". For some reason, if I am online with the custom message and
then YM goes offline and then signs back on, it never signs back on with the
custom message, always with the basic "Available". Now, if I am "Invisible"
and it logs off and back on, it keeps me "Invisible".

If it's not either of those and you are hard-wired with an ethernet
connection directly to your high-speed internet service, you should check
with your ISP to see why you are losing your Internet Connection.

Subject: [Y!M] Logging off

Recently my computer is logging off my Yahoo Messenger for no reason.
I log in and later when I come back to the computer it has logged off.
I don't see anything in the setting for this.

Any suggestions,

Linda
