Did you do a full uninstall, clean your Yahoo directory and Windows Registry, then download the FULL version and do a clean install? Read my post http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Yahoo_Messenger/message/5220 for complete details on this process. I find that YM is more likely to have quirky issues if the old version is not fully uninstalled and cleaned up and then downloading the full 10MB program instead of the "installer" program that Yahoo tries to push on people.

I wonder why that is. I have the latest version of messenger, it still wont work. Any ideas?????? But then I uninstalled YM v6 and installed the latest v8.1, and it works now. So, I strongly suspect if you're using v6, with the new captcha process you can no longer get into chat rooms. It will be interesting to see if this reduces spam at all. I suspect it won't. --- In Yahoo_Messenger@ yahoogroups. com <mailto:Yahoo_Messenger%40yahoogroups.com> , "LNVTM1" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > What version of IE and Java are you using?
