Right. Yahoo does not release your "real" birthdate to the public. You set that by editing your Yahoo Profile. I'm still 29 on some of my profiles. LOL I have multiple Yahoo ID's for different things... businesses, home, hobbies, etc..

You can make yourself whatever age you want to be in your profile and that should show up as your age in the profile summaries in the member lists of yahoo groups. I know some other social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook will automatically change your age on your birthday each year but Yahoo Profiles do not work the same way the last time I checked. Your age that is showing up in Yahoo Groups as part of a summary of your profile should be the age that you edited onto your profile. Of course, with all of the Yahoo server issues that have been affecting Yahoo Groups for many, many months, I would expect to see errors in the compilation/ reporting of this summary information.
