Yup.

To clarify: A narrow effort to document some wg historical effort/discussion is a benign task and I'm happy for it to happen, within the wg or not. I applaud efforts by people who want to record things for posterity, on the off chance that folks in the future care about learning from the past.

My strong feelings that Pete cited were about any proposal to do serious technical (development/refinement) work.

YAM was created to advance some specs, with an explicit requirement that this include only a minimum of technical effort. That effort has been defeated by circumstances and we should let it die.

Anything that goes beyond that effort, such as a generic "fixup" effort on specs -- a la, DRUMS-ish -- has nothing to do with YAM and needs separate justification and chartering.
