Cde Senzo,

Are you that away from public discourse? These statements received not only media coverage but also the attention of the Gender Commission. Yes, the president did utter such statements.

These are vies on the behavior of women in the morning. The unfortunate part is that the president was referring to the woman who accused JZ of rape (mind you, the court resolved on this matter).

Was it correct for the president to dig the unfortunate past (now that the court has put a logical closure to the matter)? If not, did he realised that he brought an old issue to public discourse? Was it that he wanted to reignite hatred of society towards that woman?

Surely, i was not impressed about the issue coming back to haunt society again after its long spell in the past.

Cde Senzo, i know you as someone who is always updated on current affairs. What went wrong?

if indeed the president uttered this statements it just questions how a disciplined cadre of the movement, President of young people in the country can speak such things.i would be disapointed if indeed he said these things, but then again why worry if we are embracing this tendency.

Sonke Gender Justice Network Strongly Condemns Comments Made by Julius Malema, ANC Youth League Leader:

Cape Town/Johannesburg, 28 January 2009: The Sonke Gender Justice Network is deeply disturbed by the sexist comments made last week by ANC Youth League president Julius Malema and by the failure of the ANC to sanction him.

Last week, at a meeting with 150 Cape Peninsula University of Technology students on January 22, Malema suggested that the woman who accused ANC president Jacob Zuma of rape had a "nice time" with him and said, "when a woman didn't enjoy it, she leaves early in the morning. Those who had a nice time will wait until the sun comes out, request breakfast and ask for taxi money."
