Comrade Tsholo’s paramount question is indeed important given the current state of TUT. What can we do to assist in resolving TUT’s problems?
I what to propose a former TUT SASCO cadres’ assemble, one of the main objectives of SASCO’s cadres assemble would be to establish first of all a relationship between those who are currently leading and those who lead in various capacities and structure before. This convention of cadres would give us the opportunity to get an in depth understanding of the on the ground situation and the state of not only TUT but of the entire leadership of SASCO at TUT. We also had a problem of continuity within branches of SASCO , so this convention would give us an opportunity to draft some sort of a Time table were there can be continuous engagement between former and current cadres. There's no doubt that a lot can be learned from Former students leaders of SRC’s,House committee reps and SASCO. These cadres are rich with knowledge about issue relating to student governance and so forth. If we are indeed serious about the embarrassing state of TUT let us meet comrades and chant a way forward that will limit if not do away with all these tradition and tendency that are foreign to the student movement at large. Comrade can establish a task team that would be given terms of reference which will enable it to engage this matter according.
