Dear comrade Floyd,

I would really like to take the debate on succession further. I did not have
access to internet over the past few days, because of relaying between cities
in the EU.

It's clear that our representation of historical facts does not have
substantial differences. The point of discussion is whether Cosatu is correct
to have expressed its position about comrade JZ continuing as the President of
both the ANC and the country in 2012 and 1214 respectively. The YCL has since
supported Cosatu's position. The YL comdemned the move by both Cosatu and the
YCL, stating that it's too early to debate the matter presently.

You have said that you are a member of both the YCL and the YL, serve in both
the NC and the NEC of both organisations, and up hold the two positions.

I too, am a member of both the YCL and the YL, and currently serving, by virtue
of being provincial secretary of the YCL, in the NC; I served in the REC of the
YL in the period of our 22nd National Conference; and, presently, I'm based
full time in Cosatu's affiliate, NUMSA, on a full time basis. I don't really
think that credentials are so important that we can concerntrate on them and
risk abondoning the real, substantive debate, succession.

You are saying that you don't have a position personally on the succession
debate, but that you uphold both the positions of the YL and the YCL. There is
a theoritical basis to your position, that of democratic centralism; but there
is absolutely no theoritical articulation. The positions by both the YL and the
YCL, I would take it as a given, were arrived at after real, living human
individuals expressed their positions in considering the matter and arrived at
conclusions. That's the starting point. And I wish to openly state that, in
this context, I do have a position on this matter. Secondly, the YL differs
with the YCL. Please, can you explain how in practice are you carrying out both
the two differing positions. This will help me understand your theoritical
articulation, which I just said, you did not articulate. Having heard you on
this point I'll restate my position.

Cosatu and the YCL are right to express their views right now, JZ must continue
in 2012 and 2014 respectively. That's my position now.

Let's discuss. What are the issues..... I was merely extracting facts
from history in order to enrich the discussion.
