Comrades,
The SABC Board is up for nomination. The agitations of the past two years (at least) have been focused on the board, the illegitimacy of the one that was appointed in December 2007 and has now resigned, and even arguments about the interim board that is now in place. But comrades, the deadline for main, permanent, board nominations is 31 July 2009 and if we don't get on with it, we will end up with another stooge board. Please assist by putting up names and don't keep them a secret. The procedure is as described in the message from Ismail Vadi, below. It is not perfect, but what is certain is that if we do not put up our candidates, the bourgeoisie certainly will put up theirs, and then we will get a bourgeois-dominated SABC board of dead-heads all over again, for certain. I personally would love to know of any nominations that have been made or will be made, preferably before Thursday next week, when I will be involved in a meeting on the subject. The more names we have at that stage, the better. In struggle, SAVC.
