How to safe ANC from Self destruction? Cdes this morning I wake with disappointment, that ANC again lost a ward at Tembisa in Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. In slowly but showly we are begin to loose focus on what we wanted to achieve during struggle. Let me highlight all of you on process unfolded before yesterday bi-elections. The former Clr of ward 12 Clr Sephirwa resigned as he is being appointed as official within the municipality. And before his departure, after he was informed about his appointment he begins to engage individuals on issue of his successor. With an interest from Regional Structure of ANC in Ekurhuleni he was asked to recommend an individual whom by the view of those individuals in Regions and in the Branch can become successor. He unilaterally decided and recommended the name to those individuals. The BEC met, that candidate whom preferred by ex Clr and some individuals within the Regional structure was present when Clr Sephirwa present his case about his departure, but failed to pursue the majority within the BEC about the decision he made about the candidate. Then BEC nominate its own preffered candidate who differ with Clr Sephirwa`s view. I need clarity, I believe that if principle decision had been taken within formal meeting especially BEC it need to be respected by everyone who was interested. I believe that if there is anyone who have interest should indicate that he has interest, but if that particular individual being quite and agree with the decision when the meeting is over then he turnaround and lobby general membership, does that not dividing the branch. Beside the decision of BEC of the ANC, alliance met and agreed to support the name that was recommended by the BEC. The biggest concern was that, we know for fact that we will never win with that name, that proposed be ex clr and his friends. That particular candidate has lot of corruption he committed and still commiting, and people are aware of those criminal activities that he done. After the process unfolded the name Buccanner Mabye who happed to become Ex Clr preferred candidate went through. He became a candidate of ANC. And We lost a ward that was ANC ward since its inception. The Region and everyone who sat on those decision making boards lobbied or not failed the branch. Because during the nomination we extensively discuss the of candidates and during the presentation we indicated that the name won`t make it. Comrades, lets respect ANC. Let us stop to protect our mess by imposing candidates to the members of public wearing ANC T shirt even though we know that they are corrupt. Million dollar question is, what should be done to make sure that this is the last ward ANC will loose ever? I pause here Magoro
