Comrades, I strongly concur with Cde Mdu. Public Representatives are found in Parliament and they come from Political Parties and assume new roles of being leaders of the entire citizenry regardless of different polotical affilliation. Hence the State money which is derived from the public's taxes is utilised for Public/State events and not Political Parties' events.
Elaborating on the latter; When Cde Jacob Zuma the President of the ANC assumes podium as the President of the Republic of South Africa to speak to the nation, he ceases to be the President of the ANC in terms of his capacity for that period until when he will be in an Organisational Rally of the ANC. What he says in the ANC Rally will automatically have a direct effect to the membership and if has to be generally be an expctation to the enitre society to accept whatever is said then the ANC will have to utilise its Majority power in Parliament to make such a matter a national/public matter and not just an ANC matter. Now, coming back to the Women's Day Celebration, all the political parties weren not supposed to be granted any podium. The Ministry on Women and Presidency should have been the only Speakers in the event and then also have T-Shirt distributed to all attendants. The T-Shirts should be diversified and only reflect the South African Colours. For instance the Youth Day Rally held this last June in Thulamahashe, Mpumalanga Province never had any political youth movement Leader given a platform to speak. Cde Andile Lungisa was not representing the ANCYL as he Spoke in the rally he spoke as the Chairperson of the NYDA which is a State Organ/Agency for all young people in the country of SA. The ANCYL had its Rally in the Northern Cape and the YCLSA had one in Free State. The other matter that I think should be noted, as a member os all the Trippartite Alliance Organisation myself, I believe that my ANC T-Shirt cannot be worn in the workplace but it can be worn in meetings of the ANC and everywhere else excluding the Workplace. So Cde Thobela and Zakhele the fact that ruling party is the ANC it does not mean that we collapse our organisationally organised events to those of the State. A reboleleng!
