SACP NORTH WEST PROVINCE’ STATEMENT ON THE ANC PROVINCIAL CONFERENCE Saturday, December 18, 2010
The South African Communist Party in the North West province is seriously disturbed by the indefinite postponement of the Provincial conference of the ANC. As the SACP we view the postponement as another tactic of trying to ensure that the Provincial Task Team (PTT) is able to control and influence the province towards the 2012 National elective conference of the ANC – consistent with the 2012 project agenda. We are equally aware that the PTT is making sure that not all regional conferences are completed so that they are not removed from our province until they achieve their aim of ensuring that the province supports the election of their own anti communist leadership, come 2012. We are therefore calling on the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the ANC to either make sure that by the time we go to the Local Government elections in 2011, we do not have the PTT but a constitutionally elected structure of the ANC in the province or it removes the PTT – failure which we are not going to campaign for unconstitutional structures of the ANC for the elections. And this is not a cheap or empty threat but a clear strategic decision– considering the factionalist manner in which the PTT is managing the politics of the province. We further calls on the Communication department to immediately remove the head of news in the SABC in the North West province as it is obviously assisting the PTT to disorganize the Alliance in the province in general and the ANC in particular.
