Sorry, I don't understand the above or how the TM can corrupt the Entourage database. I do not let the TM do its own thing. I keep it OFF and only fire up the External hard drive when I want the TM to run and use the manual button to start the backup. I usually do SuperDuper and the TM at the same time. Never really had a problem with either one.
