Added ActiveSync functionality to Mail? No. ActiveSync is a push technology
for mobile devices such as the iPhone.

Apple is using the Exchange Web Services (EWS) protocol just like the
Entourage for EWS mail client.

The opportunity for feature parity is really ripe with this because both
Entourage and Mail can literally access the same functions with Exchange
Server. The fact that Entourage accesses Exchange's out-of-office feature
and Mail doesn't is strictly a design decision by the developers. They are
choosing what they want their users to be able to do.

Mail will probably incorporate more and more Exchange features much like
Entourage did when it was gaining Exchange features during Entourage 2004
and Entourage 2008 development. Not everything can be included the first
time and Apple may decide that it wants to maintain a clean and simple
feature set compared to Entourage's more complex implementation.
