Unless selected to ³copy² and not ³move² you shouldn¹t be getting multiples
of a message.

Your account has a limit on how much you can store on the server. It¹s
possible you hit that limit and messages were automatically deleted or it
could be some weird sync issue.

This is what backups are for. Work Offline and clean up your Inbox. I also
suggest going to your account in your browser and seeing if the messages are
still on the server and check to see how full your mailbox is. Gmail has
this right below the Inbox screen.
