uh huh... that's what I thought. Rule says 'if from Joe Blow, move to Folder Joe Blow'. I ended up with copies in the Inbox, SPAM folder, Junk folder (by the way, just what exactly is the difference between those? And why, within the SPAM folder do I have an 'Allowed Senders' folder? Am I to understand that there are some Spammers that Entourage thinks I'd LIKE to be inundated by???) > >> So, just a few minutes ago Entourage throws an error of 'unable to >> synchronize >> Inbox with server' and goes on to suggest how to solve this be 'clearing the >> cache' of the Inbox. > > Your account has a limit on how much you can store on the server. 1700 messages? That's teeny. Is it set by Entourage? The Exchange server? Our IT whizbang?? > It’s > possible you hit that limit and messages were automatically deleted or it > could be some weird sync issue. It would be nice, if Entourage is going to do this, to give some sort of preliminary warning... > > This is what backups are for. Thank goodness for Time Machine. > Work Offline and clean up your Inbox. If only I could figure out how. I REALLY need someone with iChat or Skype, lots of patience and a good knowledge of Entourage to look over my shoulder at my Entourage and see if they can explain it in a way that I understand. I also don't understand why/how I have two Inboxes, two Calendars, once 'Contacts' and one Address Book. What's the difference between a list of contacts and and Address Book that contains the contacts? Beats me... Since restoring from Time Machine I have gone back, again, to my Projects, created Entourage folders for each and every one and then manually dragged every message from the Inbox to the appropriate Project folder. At the end of that endeavour, take a wild guess at how many items remain in my Inbox? 1723. Exactly as many as when I started, I thought, dragging stuff out of there!!!! Is there some secret incantation required to MOVE something from folder to folder in Entourage, as opposed to simply copying? I do NOT get it... > I also > suggest going to your account in your browser and seeing if the messages are > still on the server and check to see how full your mailbox is. How does one check how full the mailbox is? This is a company Exchange account... > Gmail has > this right below the Inbox screen. > > Who is your IMAP provider? Corporate Exchange server. __ While in school you get the lesson, then after the lesson you get a test. In life, you get the test and often learn a lesson from it.
