Margie and Karin,

When I was involved with the Zen Center of Los Angeles in the late 60's
there were a lot of women. I'd estimate about 50:50. Also as I'm sure you
both know zen literature is full of references to enlightened women,
although I must confess that most of the stories focus on men.

Good luck on your dialogs...Bill!

Subject: [Zen] women & zen

Hi Karin,

Are you still here?

There aren't many zen women, at least not in my experience. I have
some ideas about why this is, but I don't think it's appropriate to
post it yet.

But I just wanted to let you know I'm here if you'd like to discuss
zen with a woman.
