JMJM and Bill

Under the influence of Christianity and Christians the zen from TNH has become
more religious and less zen. Retreats lack of the quality silence they used to
have.   The atmosphere has lost that strenght, credibility as a zen center but
it has gained a massive religious public.  I sincerely think that a zen center
shouldn't be mixed up with Christianity or other religions in the pursue to get
more public.  This about saving souls I don't believe a word about it.

When I want to go to the church I go to the Church.  No problem.  When I want
to go to the zen center I'd like to go to the zen center free from any
religious influence.  In fact I go less and less to the sangha and more to the
church.  And this is because the church keeps its autenticity, its silence,
while the sangha is more like meeting the coffee bar friends.  Still nice
though.

JMJM,

I would be interested in participating in this. I was brought up as a Christian
and have gone through a lot of Bible study. I agree wholeheartedly with your
premise.

If you haven't already read it, I'd suggest you find a copy of a small book
called THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ZEN. It's theme is the same as the one you've
described.

...Bill!
