My Satori!
I rewrote this altering the emphasis of the language a little and filling in
some more detail.
I saw the 1987 supernovae.
It was first supernovae to be visible with the naked eye since the 1500's.
I used to often look at the night sky.
I recognised the constellation, later when I heard about it on the news.
I see a light too bright in the sky.
I watch and watch, but it does not move except with the night sky.
Twenty minutes more?
I wonder?
Re-entering my home I pass through the threshold leaving the night sky behind.
And so leaving it behind, I find it, perceiving in my minds eye what it must be?
I see a revolution occur within the heart of a star and then as if in echo a
revolution occurs within myself.
>From the deepest seat of consciousness I turn, knowing that nothing will keep
>me from the truth now.
Some months pass and I manage to maintain an uninterrupted meditative state
overnight for the first time.
I soon manage more than three days, a week and more.
Then a month passes in uninterrupted meditation.
I know now that I have sufficient control and understanding of my brain
function to make my attempt.
Looking back I can see that this really was an absolute minimum level of
control and awareness but nothing was going to stop me.
My mother convinces her doctor to have me hospitalised after a prolonged fast.
I'm out cold for 19 hours but left feeling I have glimpsed something. I lose
the use of my legs for a few hours untill I am able to eat.
All this serves to further sharpen my resolve.
Now it is as if I no longer seeking it, it now seeks me.
I feel it steadily approaching.
I sense that I could not avoid it now if I wanted to.
About a month passes, the whole time is coloured by a sense of the sureal.
Fear dawns, trepidation, even dread.
Then the night comes?
Leaving a friends house I pass into the night.
Looking ahead, above the houses and into the night sky I have a vision of what
I recognize described as the Kundalini.
I see the great serpent writhe, turning this way and that as if seeking, but
failing to see the shadow of a great darkness that rests upon its very head.
I consider this as I walk to another friend's home.
As I approach his door I believe I see the trick to it.
Passing through the threshold my foot catches and snap.
It is as though my head floats free of my body.
My friend sits in near dark playing his guitar and I sit down enraptured.
Further separations occur.
A succession of quite painful separations.
It's as if my very bones are being broken, my flesh rent until I am reduced to
a formless churning mass, my bones to small particles.
Particles to small to hold enough structure to support any sense of self that I
am able to recognize.
I float free now, my mind seems to encompass the whole of the Cosmos and at its
heart, the remnants of myself burn, bone particles so small imploding to become
no thing at all.
My awareness dwells here for a time, I sense the last vestiges of self cease.
Too week to go on I feel myself lifted up.
Form reasserts itself, seemingly without volition.
I find myself comforted for a moment.
But then it begins all over again.
I weep in the darkness my friend he plays guitar.
Over and over I am rebuilt only to again be destroyed.
Each time the form is more complex, the grasp is more tenuous.
Finally I surpass my desire to know, the process continues, although in my
heart I flee from it.
I find I am driven to know now, I can not help but know.
Finally I begin to feel the process is drawing to a close.
A sense of the fullness of things begins to dawn within my mind.
Departing my friends,
I return home and to sleep.
I dream only of a light too bright in the night sky.
