Joe, You snipped at a wrong place. The karma remark might be true, but it is also nonsense, as it brings about suffering. the old man is not a chan master, he is a 'famous' mahayan monk, respected by many, including me in the beginning, but I gave up. I am not a dog, but a rabbit. You see the movie that Buggs Bunny joins dogs to bark up a tree that is supposed to be with him on top? Anthony

I was not there. And even if I had been there, well, I am not the Ch'an master himself. He's a fellow who knows how to dispense medicine; do you? Can you be sure what the Ch'an master had in mind? With all due respect, I doubt it. I would give the Old Man the benefit of the doubt, and try to LEARN from his advice. I did not bring up the issue of karma, even if the Ch'an master said that many people suffer from their own karma. He's certainly right about that!, and I will not worsen things by maligning the Old Man. My most wonderful teacher was a Ch'an master... many of us miss him. Talk of holocausts and dictators will not get me to lash out at the Hong Kong Ch'an master. You are not a dog, so don't bark up the wrong tree. In all seriousness! Let's talk again later, pls. --Joe --- In mailto:Zen_Forum%40yahoogroups.com, Anthony Wu <wuasg@...> wrote: > If I say Hitler's holocaust victims, or Pol Pot's massacre are due to their > own karma.
