The original idea is that presence brings to light, REALITY. Presence is not an easy thing, or even a light hearted thing, to sustain. This means being conscious of every action you take in every moment.

Yet this is nothing more than an idealized idea.

Presence brings nothing, leaves nothing. These are not separate. Reality, is presence - though in expression both remain ideas, and can thus appear apart - and so appear as difficult to maintain. Such is that nature of all grasping/attachment - of all 'suffering'. Self-inflicted judgement, maintaining a false sense of separation, seeking some attainment.

I try doing this all the time, but am unable to do it even 25% of my day. Usually, much less. When I wake, I try to experience every sensation of washing, brushing teeth, shaving, eating, walking, breathing, etc. Its amazingly tiring for me.

The mirror is smooth, regardless of the length of the stubble of the beard it reflects. This is effortless. Only appearances can appear to require effort to maintain.

However, I will gambate, and try to do better all the time, as victory will come through this method, as it quiets mind, and this, in turn brings golden insights, and weakens mind's hold, thus making the task more rewarding, and the goal ever closer.

Thus all forever remains lost. Such efforts - a life's work - no help or hindrance. Only intentions and expectations in them make it appear that this is other than this as it appears.

Nothing lacks. We can only think this otherwise - in self-serving efforts to negate what presents.
