I was with you until that (or any time any one says "Zen is...." *L*).

While I conceptually respect and understand your point - and do not sit 
any sort of formal zazen - there can be no difference!

Only in delusions of un-enlightened/enlightened can these appear 
different, can practices (whatever form they take) be thought to bear 
fruit, can the path appear to have a destination, can the gate appear to 
stand ahead or behind, or appear to be reached gradually or suddenly!

[In the spirit of mountain - no mountain - mountain]:

Enlightenment, is not enlightenment.... Enlightenment!
