Joe, the koan you need to understand is the nature of reality, of the world of forms. I've been trying to explain that since I've been here. Only when that is understood can one tell what is real and what is illusion. Only then can one directly experience what is real. That includes direct experience of the formless as it manifests as illusion, i.e. as the world of forms, as well as the formless itself..
