Edgar, Why is it only you here who disparages and dishonours someone who is so obviously held in such high esteem by Joe and no doubt countless others? The bond between a student and a teacher can be more profound in some ways than that between family members. Here is a man who sat alone for six years to seek the truth and make it available for others. Just do the same yourself for one month to see what kind of strength and compassion of spirit is required to do such a thing and then come back and mock. You question his truth and sincerity based on an account of what he ate during that time. Really? Do we doubt the morality and teachings of Buddha because it was said he survived on one grain of rice a day while he was going thru his ascetic phase? Investigate by all means, but to deliberately insult to score points creates nothing but negativity. Surely someone who claims to be a teacher of awakening understands the role of skilful means?...
