joe..i have told you before i cannot get to a zen centre..so what am i to do..give up? we have been here before the 40 acres...you assume i do not practise...??????? weird assumption joe merle Merle,
You wanted to know what my connection was with the Heart Sutra and Diamond Sutra, and I told you about how these are prevalent and omnipresent in formal practice. You did not know that beforehand, or you would not have assumed that I had never heard of them before. Thus I could naturally see that you had never practiced formallyl in fact, you had told us this many times before. That is all. It's *YOU* who hold assumptions about many of us. You think that every cute Zen story is one that we are all hearing at first-blush. Shame! It's a childish and innocent attitude you strike, and it is not fitting. I don't say you're the lesser Human Being for this and for your lack of contact with formal practice and teaching, ...just as I hope I'm no lesser for having no formal Art Instruction under my belt. But I monotonically -- some might think "monotonously" -- encourage you and all others who come to a group called ..."Zen Forum"... (!) ... to find a formal Zen practice situation; *OR*, learn a bit about practice from books, and put that into practice; *AND*, learn from discussions made possible by the presence of this group, and the Zen-Assembly that we constitute, here. Of course it's OK "just" to talk about things, though, and never to practice. But don't cast aspersions on those who do practice, and who have some experience in a live Sangha. Anyway, old ground. Let's not dig up this same 40 acres again, ok? Spare the horses, and the point of the plow. Onward. --Joe > Merle Lester wrote: > > joe..what assumptions you make about me..saying i do not practise..how would >you know?.. [snip]
