Merle, I'm 50 years removed from my teens. Books which riveted me in my teens were THIS IS IT by Alan Watts, THE HOBBIT and the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien and THE TEACHINGS OF DON JUAN: A YAQUI WAY TO KNOWLEDGE by Carlos Castenada.
THE ISLAND is interesting but so far (I'm about halfway through) has not introduced any new ideas to me. If I'd read it in my teens it certainly would have. I do like it and I will finish it but it's not the top of my To-Do List right now. ...Bill! --- In [email protected], Merle Lester <merlewiitpom@...> wrote: > > > > Â bill..it was a could not put down book for me when i read it in early > teens... what's holding you back?..time?...merle > > > Â > Merle, > > I have not finished reading THE ISLAND, but I do intend to.
