It's due to the rising of the Three Poisons, which arise ENDLESSLY:
Ignorance
Hatred
and
Greed.
It's these arisings which enable you to claim you hate Catholics, for example.
Practice can keep us more free of the attachments which lead to the Poisons'
sticking, when the Poisons arise.
Practice exposes more of our original Teflon Nature, so the poisons won't stick
as readily as they do now.
