Hello AC,

It all depends on how you define 'good' and 'bad'. A person can be killed
with kindness. If you help a baby chick out of the egg it will die because
it needs the struggle of exiting the egg to get it's little lungs working.
You can help the chick best by leaving it alone.

When blind people were 'taken care of' their lives were limited by social
and personal low levels of expectation. It is unlikely that one of these
individuals would have had the initiative to climb Mt. Everest.

I never implied 'good' or 'bad'. I am just glad that our society has moved
beyond custodial care of blind people.......and I'm sure my kids and my
grandchild are glad too.
