Dear List, Sometimes on the list we see a certain aspect of a person...a very limited aspect in my opinion. We form certain judgements and opinions...some very accurate... but often not so accurate. Sometimes certain traits become exagerated when we don't see the whole person...when we only see the persona that is presented on the internet.
I know that I have been as guilty of this as anyone else. Yet, it has been very instructional to see the reactions people have of those people whom I know personally...seeing things about the person that I don't see in the person I know off the internet. I know Fudo...probably better than any other person in the world...though, he still surprises me from time to time. Some of the things that have been said about him on this list (and others) have been hilarious funny to me because I know them to be so far off base. So let me tell you about the Jusan I know...the one who has been to my home. To start with...Jusan is a woman (not a guy, Al). I have practiced with her at the monastery. She is working on getting ordained...next summer. She will be a Dharma sister of Fudo's when she is ordained. I have watched her work on the big dedication of the monastery ...along side me...and on her own. She always worked the long hard hours of preparation with a wicked sense of humor. She does have a hard edge surrounding her very kind and soft heart. I consider her (and her partner) a good friend and someone I look forward to getting to know even better over the years. I know she has left this list and I am sorry for that because Fudo and I were the ones to invite her to join. This list is not for everyone that is for sure. Kathleen Knight has also left...probably for good reasons for her personally. I corresponded with her personally and can see a valid point for her to leave.
