Dear Doug,

Better perhaps, but still only a hint, and it speaks not to so many
further issues. After the camera is broken, and one needs a camera,
there begins the learning of camera repair, inventing and creating a
better more flexible camera that captures more of what is there to
record. Learning to be an artist with the camera and create a movie that
is healthy and healing rather than depressing and destructive.

There is the issues about how to discuss video with those who are not
even aware they have a camera, and how to teach others to make a healthy
and uplifting video, rather than a depressing sad or angry video.

It speaks nothing of how to chose where to point the camera when you use
it, and the effects of sun and wind and on camera technique, It says
nothing about about putting the parts that are not in the frame in the
picture (emptiness...all that is not recorded by the camera). In zen we
say "putting the wind in a painting".

It does not speak at all about how one goes about shattering a camera,
and the techniques for loosening the grip one has on the camera, so one
can learn to put it down at will, or put it down in the first place.

And worse yet, like all analogies it breaks down when minutely examined.
It is at best, a finger pointing, and we should not mistake the finger
for what it is pointing at.

Be Well

Fudo
